Seeing a Lady about a Wig

Well there isn't any way to avoid it - I'm going to lose my hair. I will be taking a chemo cocktail of 3-4 drugs. Originally they thought I could do the abbreviated chemo of 2 drugs since they didn't see it in my lymph nodes. But being the overachiever that I am - it spread into my lymph nodes. So now I have to do the full nine yards of chemo as my oncologist put it.... lovely :-(.

Do you know why your hair falls out from chemo? Chemo drugs look for cells that are multiplying rapidly such as hair. It can't differentiate between normal healthy cells and abnormal cancer cells so it goes after anything that is growing. Thankfully once I'm done with the chemo I will get my hair back, but it may take awhile.

So today I'm meeting a woman about a wig. It's recommended you get fitted and they see your current hairstyle. I don't know if I will go for something similar (most likely) or something wild. Dan really likes brunettes so maybe I'll give him his fantasy ;-)
