I'm happy to report I completed the last step of this cancer journey. Here's a recap of the past 14 months.

2/9/18 - Diagnosed with HER2+ breast cancer

3/19/18 - Double Mastectomy where they found it in 7 lymph nodes

4/19/18 - Started Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy and completed 6 treatments

8/30/18 - Continued Immunotherapy for 11 treatments (last treatment 4/3/19)

9/4/18 - Started Radiation and completed 6 weeks of treatments

4/9/19 - Reconstructive surgery

I'm happy to report the surgery went well and we (especially Dan) is happy with the results :-) I'm grateful to have this all behind me. I can't wait for golf season and summer fun lists. I pray I never have to go through anything like this again - and that no one has to go through this ever!

This experience has led me to walk closer with God and be open to new possibilities. One area I've been drawn to for awhile now is healing. St. Luke's has a Healing Partners Ministry which I have used myself and have been trained to become a healing partner. It is a combination of relaxation, gentle touch, and prayer - to promote wholeness of body, mind and spirit. It is a beautiful experience and is good for anyone regardless of what your life situation is. Feel free to reach out to me if you would like to know more about it.

As I have said in a previous post I'm not sure everything happens for a reason but I do know that because of this journey I have become much more aware of my blessings. I'm blessed with a wonderful family who has been there for me every step and with good friends who are always checking in with me and going above and beyond. It brings me great joy knowing how blessed I am to have so many angels with me both on earth and in heaven.

To cap off the end of this journey I'm walking with my family and friends at the Komen Race for the Cure on April 27th. I was not allowed to walk last year but my family and friends walked for me with their Positive Grace t-shirts. This year I'm participating in the Survivor walk which I imagine will be very awe-inspiring seeing the number of people affected by this disease. I've raised quite a bit but there is always room for more! If you would like to sponsor me you can click here.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the love and support.
