It's Chemo Time - I would rather be in Budapest!

I start my chemotherapy treatment tomorrow but I would rather be in Budapest. We were scheduled to go on a Viking River Cruise down the Danube this week with our best friends Mike and Terri. Unfortunately plans had to change for us. We will plan to go in the future once I get through everything - we have vouchers we will have to use! Today we were scheduled to be in Budapest, Hungary which is the place I was looking forward to the most.

Chemo starts in the morning at the Community North Cancer Center. We went to our Chemo Teach session last week which was very helpful. The nurses explained each of the four drugs I will receive: Perjeta, Herceptin, Taxotere, and Carboplatin. They all are administered one after the other through a port they put in when I was in surgery. They explained the possible side effects and what to watch out for. I will keep a very detailed journal so I know what to expect for future treatments. I will receive the 4 drugs every 3 weeks for 6 cycles. Two of the drugs (Perjeta and Herceptin) I will continue to take for a year because they specifically target the HER2+ (the type of Cancer I have).

I got my hair cut short last week - I figured less to fall out ;-) I've never had short hair and I still don't recognize myself. Here's a pic of my new do. Thank you for all the prayers and support. I'm so blessed!
