So Far So Good

My first chemo treatment (April 19) went as smoothly as possible. Everyone was so nice. Our Community North Cancer Center is first class. I envisioned sitting around in a circle with bald people hooked up to tubes and staring at each other. I'm happy to report there was none of that. You have your own private room with a nice lounge chair, two chairs for guests, and a flat screen TV. I had wonderful nurses and never had any discomfort whatsoever. A sweet woman came around offering crafts so I got a new pair of turquoise earrings made. It was a long day but the next time it won't be quite so long.
My only side effects have been an upset stomach and some fatigue. I still have hair - at least for perhaps another week. I've been able to go to Jazz every other day or so and it is really helping with my physical therapy. Stephanie, my physical therapist thinks I'm doing great using her exercises (but they are really Jazz moves ;-). Stephanie has taught me a lot about our lymphatic system which I'll save for another blog.
My next chemo is May 10th. xo
