Let Me Be a Blessing

My husband's daily prayers include "let me be a blessing to someone today". I have adopted this for my own daily prayers. So many of you have been such a blessing to me throughout this journey I want to return the love.

I'm doing as well as can be expected with the chemo treatments. My friend Jill went to my last treatment with me. It was nice having her with me. They always test your blood before you get the chemo to make sure your body can handle the drugs and mine was great with no issues. They give me pre-chemo drugs to help with nausea and other side effects. After the treatment I take a steroid days 2-4 which really get me going. On day 3 of this last treatment I went to Jazz class, cleaned the garage (with Dan's help), bought all my flowers, planted them and went out for dinner! You can get a lot done when hopped up on steroids!

The week following the treatment (days 6-12) I don't have my usual energy and tend to sleep more. Then everything normalizes for the last week - just in time to go for another treatment. My next treatment is May 31st. So I'm doing as well as can be expected. It's hard somedays when people ask how I am and I really don't want to say. So if I'm having one of those days I may answer with "Doing Fine" ;-). xo
