Dan has been wanting to write a post for awhile, so here is Dan's point of view...

Today was Ann's 6th and final "harsh" chemo treatment! Next she moves to targeted radiation for 6 weeks, 5 days per week along with immunotherapy every 3 weeks for approximately 6 more months. The new and improved boobs come along probably in February or March 2019 so mark your calendars!

From my perspective, this is a long and tedious process as it also is with Ann, except she gets to add discomfort, nausea, fatigue, food aversion and various other "minor" side effects. From the very beginning she has been strong, optimistic and doesn't really complain much. Since she is treating this as a more of a nuisance rather than a medical emergency, I do the same! I would be a mess if not for her strength. Every time I slip into self pity or self imposed stress she is there talking about her retirement on October 25, 2019. (That's right she officially presented her retirement notice to me on a post-it note!) or she is talking about our trips we want to plan in 2019!

Our day-to-day lives haven't changed much. We still play golf, go out with friends, travel and the nights are filled with the sounds of our love making :-) Her/our friends have been more than amazing with cards, flowers, gifts, meals, and moral support! Thanks for being there for us.

Dan
